McIntyre Conservation Easement:
20 Acres in the McLane Creek Watershed/Delphi Valley. Conserved in 2006.

The property contains considerable functional forested and wetland habitat. The property’s wetlands, streams and forested areas share direct hydrologic connectivity to McLane Creek, Mud Bay and the lower Eld Inlet watershed. The Property’s forested over-story consists of a diverse mix of Western red cedar, Douglas fir, western hemlock, big leaf maple, grand fir and alder.  These forested areas provide key habitat connectivity to the McLane Creek Nature Preserve, the Capitol State Forest and the McLane/Eld Inlet watersheds. Permanent protection of this habitat benefits many species that rely on protected areas to hunt, feed, seek shelter and travel.

Nature, even when she is scant and thin outwardly, satisfies us still by the assurance of a certain generosity at the roots.
